- At the annual Cary Chamber of Commerce Honor a Teacher Awards Ceremony on May 14, two Panther Creek teachers received special recognition. John Shepard, who teaches sports medicine courses and leads our athletic trainer program, was the recipient of the Rex Healthcare Excellence in Teaching Award. Jon Armfield, technology education teacher and wrestling coach, received the first-ever Cary Chamber Coach of the Year Award, which was presented by The Pyramid Resource Group, Inc. Both of these awards recognize educators who go above and beyond the call of duty. Congratulations, Mr. Shepard and Coach Armfield, and thank you to the Cary Chamber and the local business community for support of teachers!
