- Jen Hodshon, Senior Class President, has been selected as winner of the 2009 Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy award, presented by the Triangle Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. The honor comes after a rigorous review process by a committee of Triangle area philanthropists and is for Jen's outstanding work with the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center.
- Congratulations to Ms. Barkes, Science Department Leader, for being selected as a North Carolina finalist by the state-level selection committee for the 2009 Presidential Awards for Excellence in mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) Program. She is one of three teachers of science selected to represent our state's best.
- Congratulations to Ms. Oviatt, English Department Leader, for being named November Teacher of the Month by Cary Chamber of Commerce.

- National Honor Society:
All prospective NHS members need to turn in their completed NHS packets to Mrs. Tuttle in Room 1506. The deadline for submission is Friday, November 13, at 11:00 A.M. Late packets will not be considered. A help session is available on Tuesday, November 3, from 2:30-3:30 in Room 1506.

- Reflection Entires are due by November 17, 2009. This year's theme is "Beauty Is..." Categories include Literature, Film Production, Musical Composition, Photography, Visual Arts, and Dance Choreography. Applications will be available in the front office or with a fine arts teacher starting Tuesday, November 3rd. All entries should be dropped off in the media center.
