SPAN Information In March 2005, the Wake County Public School System began using a new computer system, Student/Parent Access Network (SPAN) that will enable you to review your student’s data online.
The Student/Parent Access Network (SPAN) is designed to give WCPSS high school students and parents access to their records, including schedules, attendance, and grades. Students can also choose their course selections for the upcoming school year using SPAN.
Before you begin using SPAN, you will need to complete one of two forms. One is a form in which a notary must sign and the other must be completed in front of a school official. Once one of those forms has been completed and received at the school, you will receive an e-mail with your user name and temporary password from SAMSUPPORT@wcpss.net.
Once you have received this information, you may log into SPAN. To Log in: · Navigate tohttps://span.wcpss.net using your web browser: Logging In For the First Time · When you log in, you will need to change your password immediately. · A pop up screen will ask you for your old password, and then it will ask you for your new password. The old password is the one you received in your e-mail. · Please type in your old password, which was provided by your school. · Then create your new password - one that you can remember but would be difficult for anyone to guess. This new password must be 6 characters long and contain letters and numbers. · Begin using the system! · You must access your account at least once every 30 days for the account to remain active.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR PASSWORD: After 3 unsuccessful login attempts, your account will be automatically disabled and it will need to be manually reactivated by your school before you can access SPAN.
If you have lost or forgotten your password, please e-mail NCWISE526@wcpss.net with your name and your student’s name to ask that your password be reset.
SPAN is down nightly from 10 pm until 10:15 pm for nightly maintenance.
