Mission: to empower students and staff to become effective and ethical users of information and ideas.
Goal: to prepare our users to be lifelong learners who are able to identify their information needs, access, search, and evaluate relevant information, solve problems, make decisions, and communicate new knowledge and ideas in a variety of formats.
Hours:
Monday - Thursday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Online Resources
Databases, pathfinders, website links, online catalog, additional media center information.
Use: No passes are required before and after school. While classes are in session, students must either be with their teacher, or have a signed pass from their subject teacher to use the Media Center. Students with a pass must sign in and out at the desk from 7:25 a.m. until the media center closes. Students using the Media Center during their SMART lunch period must sign in.
Circulation: Books in the general collection may be checked out for 2 weeks and renewed once. Magazine, reference, and reserve materials may be checked out overnight at the end of the school day. When borrowed, reference and reserve books must be returned before 1st block the following day. If reference books are not returned by that time, there will be a fine of $.25 per block, or $1.00 per day. General collection books may be placed on reserve by teachers or by the media staff. Library fines and overdue books are to be cleared before the end of each school year.
Overdue fines:
- General collection books: $.10 per day
- Reference books: $.25 per block ($1.00 per day)
- Magazines: $.10 per day
Computer Use in the Media Center:
- Students may print from the computers $.10 per B&W page, $.25 per color page.
- Students should save work to their network directories. It is recommended that students have flash drives in order to transport their files for homework and back to school.
- Improper use of the Internet may result in disciplinary action.
Copier: A self-service copier is available for student use at $.10 per copy. |
